Thomas Tuchel has made his latest Three Lions selection for a World Cup qualifier against Andorra and an international friendly date with Senegal. While there are some notable omissions within that selection – including Manchester City playmaker Phil Foden – a strong squad has been named.

Kane, fresh from breaking his trophy curse at Bayern Munich, will captain his country again, while Real Madrid superstar Bellingham continues to delay surgery on a problematic shoulder complaint. Chelsea talisman Palmer has been recalled after missing the start of Tuchel’s England reign through injury.

That trio are all due to grace the FIFA Club World Cup this summer, which gets underway on June 14 – four days after the Three Lions take on Senegal at the City Ground in Nottingham. Kane, Bellingham and Palmer will not be allowed to link up with their club sides before a full international camp has been completed.

I could see the value in letting the players leave earlier with Club World Cup players – we discussed not having Club World Cup players, but we understood it is important as one of only five camps that we need to cherish it."
