Chris Richards has been branded a "superhero" following his outstanding defensive display in Crystal Palace's FA Cup quarter-final win at Fulham.

The Eagles romped into the semi-finals of the FA Cup with a 3-0 at Craven Cottage on Saturday, with Richards putting in an impressive display at the back. That led Palace fans on social media to laud the 25-year-old, who repeatedly headed away dangerous crosses into the box, saying he defended "like his life was on the line".

The United States international put in one of his best performances for Palace and now they are two games away from lifting the FA Cup for the first time in the club's history. This is the Eagles' second trip to Wembley in three years and they will hope to go one better than their semi-final exit last time out. If Richards keeps this form up, they could very well make the showpiece final.
