Leeds United go into this season with Argentine Marcelo Bielsa in charge, and started their season well at Elland Road against relegated Stoke City.
Bielsa has strengthened his side with the likes of Jamal Blackman and Lewis Baker on season-long loan deals, as well as Barry Douglas and Patrick Bamford on permanent deals. All of these players look like real Championship quality players, but Leeds United fans would have perhaps expected there would be more transfer activity upon the arrival of the Argentine at Elland Road.
With the clock ticking until deadline day, there is still time for Leeds United to bring some new players to the club. Considering Bielsa’s meticulous approach and unique tactical outlook, the more players he has at his disposal the better. Bielsa has previously used a 3-3-1-3 formation, relying on a hook between midfield and attack. The Argentine demands a high work rate from his players, and likes his squad to be versatile in terms of positions they can fulfil.
With that in mind, surely Radizzani can’t fail to sign these two perfect Marcelo Bielsa players ASAP…
Domingos Quina would be a perfect signing for Bielsa, Radrizzani has to act to bring in the Portuguese to Elland Road.
Whilst West Ham United would not want to sell the bright 18-year-old talent, bringing in the player on a season-long loan deal is a realistic move for the Whites. He is a skilful and technical player who needs to get first-team football under his belt.
His high energy and work rate make him a perfect fit for Bielsa. He could fulfil the ‘Enganche’ role that Bielsa regularly employs in his sides.
The Everton centre-back would provide essential cover for the Leeds United defence.
Matthew Pennington is no stranger to life in West Yorkshire, having been on loan at the club last season, in which he made 24 Championship appearances.
With the amount of matches they will have to play, the quality of a player like the 6ft 1 Pennington will be necessary. Bielsa will want to minimise the impact that injuries could have on his side.
Radrizzani should act to secure Pennington moving to Elland Road to help Bielsa achieve his Leeds United ambitions.
